Is maid.co too much software for one person?
You only turn on what you use. Most solo cleaners start with scheduling, online booking, reminders and payments. The rest of the platform, like hiring, payroll prep or accounting, is there when you need it, on the same login and the same client records, so growing doesn't mean migrating.
Do I need a laptop?
No. The field app is an installable web app that runs on your phone, and it works offline. You can view your day, fill checklists, take photos, collect payment and send on-my-way texts from your phone. Office tasks are easier on a larger screen, but they work on a phone too.
How do clients pay me?
By card or ACH through Stripe. Save a card on file and turn on autopay, and the client is charged when the visit is completed. You can also send a payment link or show a QR code on your phone. Clients can add a tip, and partial payments and refunds are supported.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. There's a 30-day free trial and no credit card is required to start. You can set up your services, import or add clients, and take real bookings during the trial to see whether it fits how you work. If it doesn't, you simply stop using it.
What happens when I hire my first helper?
Add them as a user with a field crew permission so they see their visits and the notes they need, but not your pricing or costs. Assign visits or pair them with you as a crew. Time tracking and timesheet approval are ready for when you need to prepare payroll.
