Process maps your team can follow
What happens when a lockout happens? Who calls the client, does the cleaner wait, is there a fee, how does it get recorded? Drawing it as a simple flow makes gaps obvious, and it gives new office staff something to look at instead of asking you.
The same works for the first-clean flow. Map every step from the call Phony answers, to the walkthrough, the quote with add-ons, the deposit, the key handoff and the post-clean survey. Seeing it laid out is often how owners notice the step where new clients go quiet.

Splitting the city
Take a company that's grown to three crews, all driving everywhere. The owner and dispatcher open a board, paste in a map of the service area, and draw three rough zones. Next to each they list the biweekly clients inside it and circle the two that sit on the border.
They argue about the river for twenty minutes, move one line, and agree. The dispatcher sets up the service areas and runs route optimization for the week. The board stays, with a note about why, for the day a fourth crew comes along.

Is Canvas connected to my schedule?
No, and that's on purpose. Canvas is a whiteboard for planning. Changing a board doesn't move visits or reassign clients. When you've decided on a change, you make it in the Service module, where scheduling, crews and routes live. That keeps planning low-stakes and the schedule reliable.
Who can see and edit boards?
Boards are available to people on your erp.io account, and you choose who to share each one with. An owner might keep a board about a possible second location private until it's decided, while a process map for handling lockouts is shared with the whole office team.
Do I need Canvas if I already use Miro or a paper whiteboard?
If a paper whiteboard works for you, keep it. Canvas is useful when you want plans to survive past Monday, be shared with people who aren't in the office, and sit in the same login your team already uses. It's one less tool to pay for and one less set of logins to manage.
Can cleaners use Canvas from the field?
Canvas works best on a computer or tablet, since boards are large. Cleaners can view boards shared with them in a browser, but most day-to-day field work belongs in the field app. Office staff, crew leads and owners are the usual Canvas users.
What's the difference between Canvas and Projects?
Canvas is for thinking: sketches, maps and flows. Projects is for doing: tasks with owners, due dates and a kanban board. Many plans start as a Canvas board and turn into a Projects list once they're agreed, like opening a second location or rolling out a new move-out service.
